Future Simple: will
Predictions, promises and decisions made as you speak: use will with the base form.
When to use it
I think it will rain tomorrow is a prediction. The phone is ringing. I’ll answer it is a decision made now. Will is not the only way to talk about the future: going to often expresses an existing intention, and the Present Continuous can express arrangements.
Affirmative, negative, question
She will call tomorrow. / She’ll call tomorrow. — Вона зателефонує завтра.
She will not call tomorrow. / She won't call tomorrow. — Вона не зателефонує завтра.
Will she call tomorrow? — Вона зателефонує завтра?
Rules and important exceptions
- Will is the same for all subjects: I will, she will, they will. Follow will with the base form without to: will work, not will works or will to work.
- Negative: will not or won’t + base form. Question: Will + subject + base form? Do/does/did are not needed.
- Short answers: Yes, I will. / No, I won’t. Do not end an affirmative short answer with the contraction I’ll.
- Use will with the base form of be: She will be here, not will is.
- In ordinary future time/condition clauses after when/if, often use the Present Simple: I’ll call when I arrive.
Common mistakes
❌ She will calls. → ✅ She will call.
❌ Do you will help? → ✅ Will you help?
❌ I will to study. → ✅ I will study.
